Equine Acupuncture
When this photo was taken in 2003, UF/IFAS acupuncturist Huisheng Xie was thought to be the only full-time alternative-medicine practitioner on staff at an American veterinary college.

A lecturer in the UF/IFAS College of Veterinary Medicine, Xie has been able to relieve symptoms of anhydrosis, a sometimes dangerous ailment that robs horses of the ability to sweat, in about half the horses brought to him for acupuncture treatment.
